Star Tower DevLog #4
Those were hard two weeks for me. Processes of working on Star Tower and building house escalated to the level, that I felt so burnt out I couldn’t even write about updates anywhere. Luckily I feel better now, and I can share some new steps I made.
New trailer
I did a new promotional video. It’s partly a reshot of my first trailer for Star Tower. The one from the past was at least out-of-date and for a long time misrepresented what my game is about. Now it’s properly dark and better paced.
Title art
As you could see on log miniature I have a title art now. Good Procreate lord blessed me with some brushes, so I’ve managed to draw my first art for miniatures and backgrounds for game stores.

Demo update
Demo v1.0.4 is out. In this update I’ve implemented:
- Gamma settings - now on new game start and in the in-game-menu player can set brightness of the game
- Save-menus’ buttons color fix - I’ve changed color of the buttons to more neutral one, leaving color only on text to make it more readable
- Broken flashlight cooldown- now when the flashlight breaks, simple turning off+on doesn’t fix it. After turning off, player has to wait for about 10 seconds before it’s renewed. State of the renewingflashlight, is indicated through the sound: ticking in the process and louder click at the end of the cycle. If player launches flashlight during the cooldown, it resets, so player has to wait longer. My goal here was to provoke player to walk in full darkness for a short periods of time.
Steam Page
Game steam page is live. My fight with capsules won’t be legendary but it took quite a lot of nerves to finish this step. As it is done, demo is available also there.
What now?
As I am on vacation right now, I wont be working on nothing new until next week. I have in plan to write another post here in the couple of days, but except that I will focus on trying to relax.
Thank you for your time
